Birding Ecuador - "Hummers, Howlers & Hissing Hoatzin"

"Hummers, Howlers & Hissing Hoatzin" is a celebration of Ecuador's incredible species-rich avifauna.

The film is a fascinating birding adventure, which starts in the Pacific lowlands of the north-west, ascending the western facing forested slopes of the Andes & then into the temperate elevations of the windswept paramo highlands, way above the tree line.

Then descending the eastern facing Andean slopes, eventually journeying deep into the jungles of the Amazon Basin.

The range of bird species encountered on this trans-Ecuadorian journey is truly amazing.
Plate-billed mountain toucan, toucan barbet & other Choco endemics in the north west.
Seedsnipe, Andean condors, black-faced ibis & the like in the highlands of Papallacta & Antisana. Torrent ducks, inca jays & many different humming birds on the eastern Andean slopes, whereas we're really spoilt for choice with scores & scores of new species when we travel into the humid tropics of Ecuador's Amazonian rainforest.
